Rev. Ronnie Michael Womack

Rev. Ronnie Michael Womack was summoned by his Heavenly Father on the night of February 16, 2026, in his home. He was the third of six children born to the late Percy Womack Jr., and his surviving mother, Ruth Lee Womack.

Reverend Womack was a native of Person County. He attended Woodland Elementary and Person High School. He was a graduate of NC A&T State University and a veteran of the United States Air Force. After returning from the Air Force, Mr. Womack married Darlina Ramsey and from this union, two children were born.

Reverend Womack held several positions in service working as a Fire Fighter, Police Officer, Teacher, Coach, Mentor (Behavioral Specialist), Magistrate and Pastor. Preaching was his passion, as he gave his life to Christ at an early age.

Reverend Womack was called to preach and delivered his initial sermon at Zion Level Baptist Church in 1994. He was installed as Pastor at Spanish Grove Baptist Church in 2001 and served there as their Senior Pastor for 25 years, retiring at the end of 2025.

He was a little loud; he would pray, preach, and sing for all who needed one or all of the above. He had an outgoing personality; he was approachable and was an accessible person. He was an outstanding preacher, and a powerful servant of God. Ronnie was a warrior, weary of battle and needed rest. ‘May he rest in peace’.

He leaves many wonderful years of memories and laughter to be cherished by his mother, Ruth Lee Womack and his wife, Darlina Ramsey Womack. Ronnie leaves his legacy of love, wisdom, and service to his children, Tharonn Womack and Ramsey M Womack (Taya); his grandchildren: Daria, Imani, Ramsey II and Malaya; and his great grandchildren: Miracle and Michael.  He is also survived by five siblings: Earl Womack (Debbie), Leon Womack (Kathy), Beverly Rouser (Kerry), Angela Livingston (Vincent) and Percy Womack III (Jessica); two aunts: Lola Garland, and Carolyn Brandon, as well as a host of relatives, nieces and nephews, friends and loved ones.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 23rd from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at the New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 305 Walker Street Roxboro, NC 27573.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Spanish Grove Baptist Church, 5004 McDonald Road, Scottsburg, Virginia 24589.

Eulogist, Senior Pastor of Spanish Grove Baptist Church, Reverend Derrick Pettiford. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
