Reginald Scott Tillman, Sr., affectionally known as “Reggie”, “Big Reggie”, “Pop”, “Pop-Pop” passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the Roxboro Nursing Center.
Reggie was born on August 4, 1951, to the late Jacob and Ruth Tillman. He attended Roxboro Elementary and Person County High School Class of 1969. He also attended North Carolina Central University.
He joined Lawson Chapel Baptist Church at an early age where he remained a member.
Reggie was the owner/operator of Reggie’s Grocery and Grill in Burlington, NC and R&J (named after his sons) located in Roxboro, NC.
Reggie was a former member of Battle Ax Lodge, Herbert Bell Shaw Consistory, El Jebel # 97, and The Sportsman Club of Roxboro.
Reggie is survived by his wife Freda, sons Reggie Jr. (Kristi), Jeremy (Brandy), and grandchildren, Ellie, Jackson, Taylor and Eva. He is also survived by several cousins and “special cousins”, Ben and Salomia Jeffers, Shirley C. Brooks and bonus friends, Walter Hicks, Parker Bradsher, Roland and Linda Thomas.
