Mr. Mikelle Shawn Bailey, Sr. age 52, born to the union of Uetta Paylor Bailey and Herbert Bailey, was called home on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at his residence.
Shawn was affectionally known as “Sticks” by his family and friends. He attended Person County Public Schools. He was a graduate of the GED program at Piedmont Community College. Shawn worked various jobs in the community: Outer Banks Seafood, GKN Automotive and AW of NC.
Shawn enjoyed cooking and demonstrating his barbering skills. Most of all he will be remembered for his infectious smile and laughter.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Barton and Katie Rogers Paylor and Lucy Obie Bailey.
In addition to his mother and father, he leaves to cherish his precious memory, one daughter, Tamara “Mitzy” Torain of Durham, NC, two sons, Chaseton A. Bailey and Mikelle Shawn Bailey, Jr. of Roxboro, NC and one brother, Brandon Baylor of Florida. His grandfather, William “Ump” Bailey of Roxboro, NC, four aunts, Deborah P. Peynado (Vincent), Brenda Bailey, Shirley B. Farrish (Hassell) and Shirley B. Bailey all of Roxboro, NC and two uncles, William Bailey and Anthony Bailey of Roxboro, NC, as well as, other relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, September 4, 2023 at 1pm at the Alan L. Lawson Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Ronnie Womack providing the eulogy and Reverend Dwight Wilkerson officiating.
Public viewing will be Sunday, September 3, 2023 from 1 – 6pm at the Alan L. Lawson Mortuary Chapel.
