John Nathaniel McCain

Mr. John Nathaniel McCain, Sr., age 73, departed this life and entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 9, 2024 at the Yanceyville Rehabilitation Center. John was born on March 30, 1951 in Caswell County to the late John Ellis McCain and Georgia Mae Smith McCain. He was member of Zion Level Baptist Church in Semora, NC.

John was educated in the Person County School System and a graduate of the Class of 1969. He was employed by Collins & Aikman for 30 years and later by Alamark, until retirement.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother, Mazie L. Smith.

He leaves to cherish his memory, four sons, John Nathaniel McCain, Jr., Bryan Devon McCain (Monita), Patrick McCain, Kevin McCain (Shia) and ten grandchildren. Four brothers, Donell McCain (Mary), Poindexter McCain, Michael McCain, and Gregory McCain; four sisters, Ollie McCain-Moore, Priscilla McCain, Verne McCain and Debra McCain Trent (Douglas), all of Roxboro. A sister-in-law, Ruby Jean McCain of Baltimore, Maryland and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Public visitation will be Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 1:00 – 6:00pm at the Alan L. Lawson Mortuary Chapel at 209 Chub Lake St. Roxboro, NC 27573. The family will be present from 5:00 – 6:00pm. At all other times, the family will be at the home of Patrick McCain at 320 Sunny Vale Lane, Roxboro, NC 27574.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at 2:00pm at the Zion Level Baptist Church 1780 Zion Level Church Rd, Semora, NC 27343. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:00pm at the church. Rev. Willie O. Glenn, eulogist.
