Howard B. Blackwell

Mr. Howard Baywood Blackwell, 72, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Duke Hospice.

He was born February 2, 1952 to late William Fletcher and Pecolia Smith Blackwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest William Blackwell and an infant son, Howard Blackwell, Jr.

He is survived by a daughter, Cindy Blackwell Boozer and three grandsons, Carmani, Cameron and Cayden Boozer of Pinecrest, Florida. Three sisters, Catherine B. Vincent (Nathaniel), Rubie C. Barnes (Jerry), Patricia B. Ramsey all of Hurdle Mills, NC; two brothers, Danny K. Blackwell (Joann) of Millersville, Maryland, Donald Blackwell of the home and a sister-in-law, Linda G. Blackwell of Pleasant Grove, NC. He also lives to cherish his memories aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held Friday, March 29th from 1:00 - 7:00pm at Alan L. Lawson Mortuary Chapel 209 Chub Lake St. Roxboro, NC 27573.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 30th from 11:30am - 12noon at the Alan L. Lawson Mortuary.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 30th at 12noon at the Alan L. Lawson Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Rufus L. Johnson, Pastor of Union Grove Baptist Church of Hurdle Mills, NC will be officiating and Rev. Larry McDonald, Pastor of St. Paul AME Church, Raleigh NC will be providing the eulogy.
