Gayther Elmo Lawson

Mr. Gayther Elmo Lawson, 84 of Timberlake, NC born to the union of the late Gayther and Louise Owen Lawson, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Duke Medical Center in Durham NC. 

Elmo worked most of his adult life as a self-employed construction worker. He enjoyed working with wood, driving heavy equipment, playing baseball and listening to old time "blues".

Elmo is preceded in death by his loving wife, Lucille; three brothers William, Roy and Dallas Owen Lawson and two sisters, Vernessa Lawson and Vickie Lawson Nelson.

He leaves to cherish his memory three sons: Ronnie (Joyce), Cleon (Teresa) and Cory (Archiel), one daughter: Amanda Lemon (Bill). Two brothers: Harold (Delores) and Clarence; two sisters Novella Davis-Reeves and Mary Ernestine Stanfield. Thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
