Ernestine " Pewee" Torain

Ernestine "Pewee" Torain of Roxboro, NC departed this life and entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Duke Medicine Pavilion in Durham, NC. She was born to the late Christine Torain on January 10, 1944. She attended Person County Schools and was a dedicated employee of Tultex Yarns until she retired. She enjoyed attending church at Olive Hill Baptist Church and Old Mount Zion Baptist Church with her children. She also enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and watching them play sports and sing. She was a die-hard Atlanta Braves and UNC Tarheel Men's basketball fan.

In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her brother, John Thomas Torain (Bob).

She leaves to cherish her precious memories:  one son, Tim Torain (Antoinette); two daughters, Jennifer Torain-Jones (William) and Shirley Torain-Frink (Tony). Two brothers:  Carl Garland (Jackie) and Wayne Torain; two sisters:  Denise (Hog) Torain and Marian (Tiny) Torian. Five grandchildren:  Jessica Palmer, Domenick Torain (Tikara), Diamond Torain, Gabrielle Jones, and Gavin Jones. Six great-grandchildren:  Dylon, Kahlil, and Kaelani Torain, Sincere and Samir Jones and Nai'Kyesse Brandon. Two uncles:  Wilbur and Michael Torain and two aunts:  Carolyn and Maxine Torain and a host of nephews and other relatives.
