Mr. Cletis Elmo Gentry, age 72, departed this earthly life on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at Duke Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. He was born on March 17, 1953 to the late Saint and Anna Cordell Satterfield Gentry.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters: Allie Brandon and Barbara Smith, one brother George Gentry.
Cletis leaves to cherish his memory: his sister, Norma Morrison of Roxboro, NC; brothers, Bentley Gentry (Shirley) of Durham, NC and Kevin Gentry (Bobbie) of Texas. He also leaves three nephews, Bobby Smith, Jonathan Gentry, and Eric Gentry; two nieces, Gwendolyn Neal (Randal) and Courtney McClain (Taurean). Eight great nephews and nieces, Justin, Mya, Madilyn, Zaniyah, Alissa, Amya, Aleah, and Addiah, as well as, a host of other relatives and friends.
There will be no formal funeral or public viewing. His final resting place will be at the Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1851 Cedar Grove Church Rd., Roxboro, NC, on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 11:00 am.
