Carmen Louise Giggey

Carmen Louise Giggey, age 76, passed Friday afternoon, January 27th, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Mrs. Giggey was born November 14, 1946, in Santa Ana California, to the union of the late John Elwood Douglas, Jr. & Mary Louise Harty.

Carmen always put God first throughout her entire 76 years of life and had no fear but was very much at peace to go home to our heavenly Father, when she knew her time was near. She was a member of the Roxboro Bible Church.  Carmen was also known for her “green thumb”. She loved her plants and loved spending her free time gardening; Chuck Hayes Gardenias were her absolute favorite. Carmen loved to talk and anyone who was close to her is laughing right now. Carmen, retired from Durham County Government as a senior analyst programmer in 2013.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late Husband, Robert Loomis Giggey, a Sister, Karen Snow and Brother, John Douglas.

She leaves to cherish her memory, two children, Vicki Louise Kaline and Sonnie Charles Hayes (Nikki), two stepchildren, Beth Marie Bengs and Bobby Giggey (Jennifer), two siblings, Mary Yvonne Hartman and Helen Douglas Dow (Opie), six grandchildren, Sandra Ashley Thon, Nicholas Millard, Samantha Marie Watts, Jonathan David Watts, Chase Daniel Hayes, Natalie Danielle Hayes and two great granddaughters, Samantha Jolee Greenway and Kacie Rae Pulliam.

Carmen's private memorial service with immediate family and church members was held on Sunday January 29th, 2023 at Roxboro Bible Church. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so by sending a plant to 562 Beaver Creek Parkway, Roxboro NC, 27574.
