Mrs. Audrey Mae Ramsey, 64, of Roxboro, North Carolina, entered eternal rest surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on May 17, 1961, at Person County Memorial Hospital to the late Samuel Hedrick “Rooster” Ramsey and Mary Ferges-Ramsey, who welcomed her into a close-knit family of seven siblings and a deeply rooted family.
In addition to her parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her beloved oldest sister, Carolyn Ramsey and brother, Hendricks Joseph “Junior” Ramsey.
For 36 years, Audrey was the devoted wife of Rick Pass, her steadfast partner in life. Together they built a home filled with warmth, humor, and unwavering commitment. She leaves behind her cherished children, Jamaica Ramsey and Hendrick Pass, who were the pride of her life and the heart of her purpose. Audrey’s legacy continues through her grandchildren and great grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy. She embraced her role as matriarch with grace—guiding, nurturing, and loving across generations. She is also lovingly remembered by her siblings: Calvin Alexander Ramsey of New York, New York; Deborah Brunetta “Earnemoe” Ramsey, Phyllis Ramsey-Ali, and Dwight D. Ramsey of Baltimore, Maryland; and Gwendolyn Ramsey of Roxboro, North Carolina. Each carries forward the memories, laughter, and unbreakable bonds they shared with her. Audrey was the youngest and was fondly called by her brothers and sisters, “Morning”, a nickname that was given to the time of day she was born. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Angela Williams and brothers-in-law, Harvey Ali, Terry Pass, Ronald Pass, and Jerry Williams.
Audrey will be remembered for her love of reading, creativity, and receiving a special Engineering Certificate from Person County Senior High School, as well as, her loyalty to family, and her ability to make every person feel seen and valued. She had a habit of calling her siblings at random just to say, “I love you.” Her presence was a steady light, and her absence leaves a space that can only be filled with the memories she gifted to all who knew her. Her life was a testament to resilience, compassion, and the enduring strength of family. Though she has departed this earthly home, her love remains– woven into the hearts of those she touched.
