Alexander Bass Obituary

Alexander Levi “June” Bass, son of the late Levi and Pearl Bass was born March 22, 1936, in Durham County. He was preceded in death by brothers, Marvin and Willard Bass, and by sisters, Katherine Scott and Ida Bass. On Monday, August 7th, an angel visited Sovah Health in Danville, Virginia and escorted him home.

          He leaves to cherish his memory, four daughters, Angelina Bryant of Pittsburg, PA, Lavonia Jones (Lenny) of Smyrna, Delaware, Latonia Bass Bailey of Harlem, NY and Felicia Bass of Charlotte, NC. Four sons, Kevin Bass (Amanda) of Wilmington, Delaware, Alex Bass of Charlotte, NC, Travis Godwin of Durham, NC and Lamont Bass (Tara) of Roxboro, NC. Twenty grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. One brother, Donnie Bass (Heidi) of Seattle, WA.  A sister-in-law, Sabina Bass of Durham, NC. Two special daughters that he raised, Sabrina Daniel and Brittany Daniel, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that he loved dearly.

Viewing will be held Friday, August 11, 2023 from 1pm to 6pm at the Alan L. Lawson Mortuary Chapel at 205 Chub Lake St. Roxboro.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 2pm at the Alan L. Lawson Mortuary Chapel. Eulogist will be Rev. Willard Bass, Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC.
